The IBM 305 RAMAC computer from 1956 was the first commercial computer using a HDD as a secondary storage device, instead of punch cards.

Known as the IBM 350 disk storage unit, the system stored 5 MB of data and weighed over a ton. Like every super computer from those days, it wasn't exactly portable, requiring forklifts to be transported around.

As you can see on the picture, it was delivered by cargo planes.
